…14th November 2014 was no ordinary day for Ms. Rahab Gichengo and Mr. Brian Maobe  the winners of the coveted crown Mr and Miss NIBS 2014 , after they were crowned over the weekend at the carnivore Simba Salon.The crowned Miss NIBS Ms. Rahab Gichengo was all excitement as she elatedly embraced her newly found status. “I am honored to be the Miss NIBS 2014 and I promise to do my best and be a good ambassador for NIBS mentoring young people during my reign as Miss NIBS,” said Gichengo. Mr.NIBS Brian Maobe was equally enthused and overwhelmed with his achievement thanking the judges for voting him as the Mr NIBS 2014.
The well attended event and successful pageant saw 22 contestants models who made it to the finals battle it out for the coveted crown. Ms.Rahab Gichengo a Hospitality student at Thika Road Campus wowed the crowd with her eloquence and intelligence.The judges were impressed by her personality,style and mastery of content. Rahab  also displayed good cat-walking skills on the runway which was an added advantage in the hotly-contested event.
On the other hard Mr.NIBS Brian Maobe a Journalism and Mass communication student Town Campus did not disappoint either,he displayed talent,creativity brains and culture throughout the event.
The coveted crown had stiff competition from all the 22 models and they all displayed talent,creativity and intelligence,but at the end of the day it was a competition and thus there would be a winner. Milly wairimu came in as the Miss NIBS 1st Runners-up while Nyibol Ndeng Came in as the 2rd runners-up.Felix Omondi on the other hand emerged the Mr NIBS 1st runners-up while his counterpart Jackson Mathenge took the 2nd runners-up.
The sponsoring partners were the Peoples Daily PD, K24, Beauty point College who did make-up for the models and Redbull who gave out gift Hampers to the Models.The audience were treated to electric performances by Jua Cali a Kenyan Hip-hop Rapper and Fire Dancers.
